Studio FAQ
Do I always have to pay online?
No, you do not have to always pay online. If you wish to pay by check or cash, please alert the Studio Manager at studio@caveartspace.org as soon as you place your booking request. You are then responsible for arranging a day and time of payment (before your come to use the studio). However, after CAVE approves your booking if your request is within five days you MUST PAY ONLINE!
I’m confused: I received an email saying that my booking had been approved, but I don’t see it in the calendar.
Upon receipt of payment, your booking is confirmed. Payment guarantees the studio to be available to you during the agreed upon hours; prior to this, your booking is still tentative. Few hours after your payment is completed you will see your name in the calendar. Please remember payment MUST BE MADE within 12 hours from the time booking approval is received in order to secure requested time slot.
Is there a way to prevent the cats from entering the studio space?
Yes. We are equipped with locking cat doors at CAVE.
Something important came up and I have to cancel my booking. Can I get my money back?
It depends on the amount of time before the booking. Cancellations made within seven days of the booking are not eligible for studio credit. If the cancellation is made more than seven days in advance, you are eligible for studio credits (must be used within a month of issue). Cash refunds are possible for advance bookings, if the cancellation is made three weeks before the time of the booking.
Can we eat in the studios?
Only water is permitted for consumption in the studios. Also, street shoes, tap, black-soled shoes, are not permitted in the studio.
Can I play live music in the studios?
Generally, no, but sometimes exceptions are made. Email studio@caveartspace.org to clear it with the Studio Manager. Music should be kept to a reasonable level, and no activity involving screaming and/or stomping is allowed.
Is the studio heated/air conditioned?
Yes. It is heated in the winter and we have fans for summertime use.
Do you have a waiting room that I can use before my booking?
No. When you schedule a booking, you must allow time for arrival, changing, set up, etc. within your paid time frame.
Can I burn candles?
No. Fires of any kind are not permitted in the studio. This includes candles, incense, and cigarettes.
Can I do areal work in your studio?
No. Sorry our roof structure isn’t strong enough.
Will you assume responsibility for stolen articles?
No. CAVE Organization will not be held accountable for lost or stolen articles. CAVE Organization Inc. is not responsible for any injury sustained on the premises of 58 Grand Street Brooklyn NY 11211.
Can I storage my props or mats in the studio?
No. All items should be taken back with you. This include garbage such water bottles and coffee cups.
Is someone there if I forget the code?
The onus is on you to remember the code. CAVE is not responsible if you forget to bring it and miss your studio time.
What kind of equipment do you have in the studios?
The studio is equipped with a stereo system, VCR, DVD, iPod jack, and a monitor.
When can I use the studio?
Studio Hours are Monday to Sunday, 10 am to 10 pm.
What are the studio specs?
CAVE Studio is an 800 sq ft space with white walls, white sprung wood floor, and skylights. Its dimensions are 19 wide X 40' deep X 16’ high.
Can I see the studio before I book it?
Of course. Email the Studio Manager at studio@caveartspace.org to arrange a viewing.
