Acclaimed butoh artist Ko Murobushi returns to the Japan Society with this new full-length work. Murobushi uses the metaphor of the sky to release the freedom of the dancers' bodies through his signature blend of violence and gorgeous stage poetry. More details.

Masaki Iwana has blazed his own trail in butoh since 1975. His early performances from 1975 to 1982 were marked by his radical and rigorous approach of complete stillness and nakedness. This new piece is a testament to his evolving and complex aesthetic. On the double bill is a dance by butoh group Cokaseki that is based on a story by Japanese author Hyakken Uchida. More details.
